He kind of looks like a character from the first episode of My Little Pony---
(http://www.x-entertainment.com/pics3/pony13.jpg)
:'(
I wish I didn't know that.
That being said, he doesn't look terribly ape-like. If you're using the DBZ character as your reference, you might want to cover more of the forehead.

Okay, alter, this isn't a teen-rant forum, where you post 1-word replies in a critique forum. I'm not a mod or admin, but I know neither is tolerant of useless replies. Do not post unless you are either A) Giving critique or helping the artist, or B) questioning the validity of critique. Basically, moving the art forward. Please use common sense. (And tell me if I've stated something the rules do not.)
Be sure to read the rules, ALTER.
Regarding the sprite:
The light sources are confusing, you might want to look into that. The shoulders do not communicate the same light as the face does, and neither agrees with the chest. Also, face is sort of unnecessarily busy, you might want to clear it up a bit.
-
My Little pony so skinny and boney =p lolz well any way it looks nothingz like your freaky pony beast D:
-
i didnt work on the chest it was ruff took a few secounds but i didnt work on the chest i just mirrored it
-
kuro, you have like 5 active threads atm on this first page do you not find that atall confusing? I'd really consider combining it to a pixel dump or something for yours and our benefit, kinda reluctant to give any critique as it looks like you may just move onto a new project as soon as you lose interest. Not that I think you've stopped working on those other pieces I think it's great you have such an interest in pixel art, I just think it'd help you more to combine the threads so critique could be put to better use.
Just an idea, sure someone else has mentioned this but thought its worth saying.
-
Alright il keep all my work in one place
Update:(http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/8498/apel.png)

Actually he looks like this guy from dragonball http://fc37.deviantart.com/fs18/f/2007/188/e/b/Super_Saiyan_Vs__Great_Ape_by_Seijimei.jpg (http://fc37.deviantart.com/fs18/f/2007/188/e/b/Super_Saiyan_Vs__Great_Ape_by_Seijimei.jpg)
How much My little pony do you watch?! :P
Edit:
Oops, didn't realise Kuro already linked to a pic..

could some one actually give me C&C?

could some one actually give me C&C?
Well I don't know, I see a lot of critique. Here's a strike for you, though. Mind your manners.
-
My C&C is that you need to draw more from life my friend, it'll help you greatly. As for the sprite, make it a more dynamic pose, less colors, try to make it closer to Toriyama's style, also smooth outlines.
-
Sorry if my goofy image seemed out of place, but what I was really trying to say with it is that your current version doesn't look like the character you're trying to base it off of. Sorry for seeming too misleading.
Want "actual" critique? The lines in the face don't stand out enough. I'd suggest upping the contrast of the flesh and, as bengoshia suggested, lowering the color count. Don't worry about adding texture until the pose is fully realized--- and that's if you opt to add that level of detail at all (since the cartoon certainly doesn't).

Yeh I agree, putting a more believable light source on this would definately help this piece along, at the minute im afraid to say it has a strong pillowshaded look about it in places, as if parts of the body are lit from the center outwards, try maybe shading this as if the lights hitting from somewhere above. For consistancy of form its definately a good idea to flip parts of the body for a guide of sorts so that like an arm isn't noticably larger or smaller in comparisant to the other but think of giving each arm unique attention and definately shade them appropriately, plus variation with their positioning could make it look more natural.
I think you could get some stance inspiration from actual apes, I know they're they saiyens transformed but in this form they are technically just huge enraged apes. There's more you could do with the posture to express this, they're like bulls seeing red. Mind you im not sure what this is going to be used for. This might be of some inspiration, Kong (first thing i thought of probably not a great example), im not saying do it like this but im sure it's better to have some ape references to push you in the right direction to give it more interest there's bound to be some great images out there to help, even from the cartoon getting the style down n all.

Well here's some C+C, now that you made me feel bad for not CCing you in my last post. :'(
Just kidding.
You're sprite has way too many abdominal muscles. In fact, he has a twelve-pack. Like I've been told before (and this is good advice) you should use some reference pictures. Google images never lets me down.
Here's an edit with the reference pic I used:
You should definitely go back and do the sprite in just flat colors first before you try to make him look furry. Also, make his legs longer. ;D
-
make it more cartoonish by using fewer colors ..
also match his shoulders to his head, and smooth the outlines
-
Update (http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/7069/apepowaz.png) any better? im kinda stuck dont know how to draw the hands and feetz

Just to note: Oozarus don't have abs, they have guts, use more reference Kuro, also remember to throw him into perspective.

kuro you're still pillowshading, could you tell us where you're lightsouce is? Plus you're now banding alot too ???.

Its coming from above.
-
the how you've shaded it makes no sense :sry:
-
The light source on the head is from the left and very slightly upward.
I don't think it should have less colours, because anime is very different from video gaming...
Very few of the Dragonball Z RPG kicking around are shading in the same way as the anime or any games for that matter...
