Post by: Mabelma on March 30, 2009, 04:23:55 pm
Sorry for the last thing that happened. This is a completely custom sprite. Please C+C him as much as you can I really need it.

These are edited sprites from Mother 3, I'm sure of it, explain yourself.

Wow, I was going to say they looked a lot like Earthbound sprites, but I didn't say anything. Guess I was right.

Yeah, don't do that.

Woah sorry I forgot to say they were in that style. What's wrong with the? I think Winkleis completely custom but you guys tell me what I did wrong. I took that sprite as a base for making my sprites I hope that's not a problem.

I don't think there's a problem, just don't fail to state these things in the future.

Oh ok then. I"m sorry then. Could you comment on them? Did I did good on them? I'll tell you in the future where they're from. Do they qualify as custom sprites?

This isn't a board for editing sprites, Mabelma. We make stuff from scratch here. Sorry if I'm being a bit blunt.

edit his legs, feet.
both-sides' parts cannot be in the same level of volume, outline the helmet -dark colors-.
each arm needs to be in a different position, also his stomach makes him fat,you need to reshade it after smoothing the outlines.

anyway,it's a simple-beautiful thing to be gifted to your friend ^__^

What's wrong with his stomach? I'm going to fix his arms today and also his legs if I have some time. I'm going to m ake some more things for this maybe an iddle or something else. Is it good cause that's for Osiris or tyvon back at TSR. I think I'll make some more for some guys who are really my friends in TSR thanks for helping.

If you want it awesome you should start all over, with the body, the head is ok for me, If you want to have this style I tried to repair some perspective problems.

Thanks bonehead it looks much better now but why did you take the beard off? It needs it. If I add would it still be ok?
Added it to it:(http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/qq234/mabelma95/LetsStart2.png)

The beard isn't reading well, looks like something over his shoulder. Hm.. I can't explain the problems as well as show them, so here's a quick edit:

-Changed the pose to look more relaxed and/or realistic
-Raised the belt to give him a waist area
-Shrunk the arms/fists to look more natural
-Shifted the beard to be under his chin
-Removed redundant skin color

I'm not sure what's going on with the hat-thing, so I didn't really do anything there. Same with the necklace (?). I tried to remove some of the harsher outlines from his expression as well.

Now I know there are numerous problems with my edit as well, but hopefully this can start you off in the right direction.  :)

Thanks guys that's just plain awesome I love how the colors look like. I also like the new pose. I'll add the new collar and the new orb for the hat later. I have a question how did you make the colors look so awesome? Those edits just made my day and I though it couldn't get any better.

Here's an edit of the one Reo and Regulus did:

The point of people doing edits isn't for you to edit what they do to further the piece. It's for you to examine what they did differently, and figure out what you need to do. They're trying to show you techniques in the artwork that would help you become a better pixel artist.

Oh yeah. Sorry. So what's wrong with the first sprite was the pallet and how the arms and legs wera made, also it needed AA and a better shadow placement. To show that I've learned from this I will make another sprite in this style.

Sorry guys I guess that that was a one thing sprite cause I just can''t get to do anything else in that style. I'll something else sooner or later sorry. Is there anything you recommend for me to improve like some tips maybe something like start spriting in this style... and then keep on going  to this.
