Title: Graphics Tablet Question
Post by: QuickSilva on February 21, 2009, 08:00:03 pm: When using a Wacom tablet to do pixel art do you experience a slight pause every time you prepare to draw a stroke? This doesn`t happen with non pixel art programs but with Promotion and even Paint I am getting a very slight delay. I have found it best to keep the pen on the tablet as otherwise my stroke flow is ruined. Anyone else experience this or know of a solution? I`m guessing it is because the pressure part of the pen is not in use, am I wrong?

Post by: JonathanOfDrain on February 21, 2009, 11:50:24 pm: It sounds like a problem with the wacom. My old 4x6 wacom did that. My 12x7 Trust tablet doesn't have a problem with that. Wacom seems to... jiggle a little too.

Post by: QuickSilva on February 22, 2009, 08:02:19 am: Strange, I have tried two Wacoms now (both USB), one on XP and one on Vista, both use different drivers too and they do the same thing. Ptoing, what driver versions are you using if you do not mind me asking?

Post by: huZba on February 22, 2009, 10:25:00 am: It doesn't happen with my intuos3, but did with the Volito. Fixed it by changing the double click distance to minimum/off.

I never had this problem tho and I been using Wacoms for a few years now, so far only Intuos2 and 3 tho, so I dunno how the more budget ones fare.

It just involves switching off the press and hold functions from the control panel.

Although i will have to properly pixel to be sure of that, but so far it seems fine. Has been annoying me for a while, although only seemed to be effected by the right click button on my pen.

(Edit - Yay it works! It feels so much better to pixel with my tablet now, before it was a nightmare!)
