Hello all I am new here. I have been a member over at PJ for a while and have this stuff posted there as well. I was hoping to see if I could get a few more opinions on everything. This is for an iPhone game that I am working on at the moment. Here is what I have so far. All comments and suggestions are appreciated.
This game is now in the appstore free for a limited time.

I liked the sprite but there is something weird about him walking i think is the movement of his hair..
it doesn't quite match the walking cycle..
-
The hair in the walk cycle is the most recent part I worked on. Do you have any suggestion for improvement?

well while he is walking his elbow is going all the way to the back which looks like he is twisting while walking.. and to the hair
i can't really tell you how to improve since i haven't started this thing of animation yet but i just said it feel awful on my opinion
roughly someone that understand animation will explain
-
In the idle animation what is he doing? Fanning his hair? i'm a bit confused on that one

He is waving he just brings his arm up quickly and that makes his hair move.

If you have to explain it, then it's not apparent and doesn't work. Make it more obvious, and slow it down.

I have a WIP thread going over at PJ

I had noone mention that the animation was unreadable. I have had alot of people tell me they like it as well (not just in the thread). Not saying it shouldn't change but as of now more people like it than don't like it. I would like to know if more people feel the same way about it. As for the slow down I really don't have much play there. I have a 1 sec delay between frame for the sprite in the game. Each animation has 8 frames. Thats what I am working with. I am open to suggestion on how to "make it more obvious". Right now I don't know how to do that since it is obvious to me.
*EDIT*
Is it the hair movement that makes it hard to understand?

I think I am going to change the wave a bit. In the meantime here is a mockup I have been working on. C+C appreciated.

The sprite is pretty good. I don't have any advice for you there.
The icon is bad. Every iPhone icon I have ever seen has the same shape and gloss. You totally break that convention and don't even do it in a way that blends in with the rest of the icons a user would have on their screen.

The icon is automatically clipped and the gloss is also added automatically in iphone. The gloss can be hidden. Which I have done but on the iphone it has the rounded corners.

Hey, thanks for clearing that up. I would love to play it, but unfortunately I don't have an iPhone or iPod touch.
