Title: Question about top-down perspective
Post by: JetSetRadioo on February 01, 2022, 03:01:07 pm
So I use circles that have 1/2 the height compared to the width to establish my angle and keep it consistent. But that's for objects, but I'm making a basketball court and now i'm not sure. Should the ground center circle just be a 1:1 circle or 1:2 circle?

Thanks!

I'm not sure if top-down perspective refers only to games such as Zelda: A Link to the Past, Pokemon, Mother 3, etc. BUT I'd say that it depends on how your squares look like. A circle should be inscribed on a square (fig 2 (https://www.basic-mathematics.com/images/inscribed-circles.jpg)), touching the midpoints of every edge. If it would be a regular square, then it would be a 1:1, if it would be squashed or slanted, then the circle should follow that.
