Title: Light vs Darkness
Post by: weaselpa on December 27, 2008, 07:16:38 pm
Greetings, people...

It was done in about two days and it's my first pixel animation...

I'd love to receive c+c in just about everything... Shading, movement, etc...

Thank you in advance and happy new year to all...

Looks almost like an animated mockup to me. You did a great job for a first animation.
The characters are very readable in spite of their size, the animation is smooth and I like the motion blur effet you did on the sabers.

The only letdown is the scenery which looks a bit bland (esp. the floor).
I think you should anti-aliase the lines on the floor (and add some variety. Those random techy lines arent enough to please an eye) and add some kind of border or transition between the floor and the walls.

Keep it up and Happy New Year too.

Hello, again...
ptoing: thank you for the edit...
fil_razorback: Thank you for commenting... The transition between floor and walls was quite troublesome, i should admit... I finally decided to put some shading but don't know if it works... About the 'techy' lines, i didn't want to anti-alias them because that would give them a third dimension which i didn't like since they're just patterns on the floor... Still, i decided to add some more lighter ones just for the variation you proposed...
So here's my edit...

What you could do is create a larger shadow at the bottom of the walls, as if there were lights right on top of the walls (if you see what I mean :B)
