Title: The Grey Pilgrim
Post by: jmgandalf on January 13, 2006, 05:55:53 pm
Hi everybody.

I see very skilled and professional artist around here, so it would be nice if anyone could give
some advice/critics on my lastest pixel:

It's based on a famous illustration of Gandalf the Grey, by John Howe.

I would like to improve it, but i don't want to upper the colour count.  :P

Thanks in advance  :D

EDIT: Sorry for my english. But i really need some feedback on this piece. Thanks again :)

It's too good for me to find any real flaws in.  The under/inside of the hat looks just a tad strange.  Also, he looks as if he's fighting a really strong wind.  If so, the cloak could stand to be just a touch more airborne.  Excellence.

Many thanks entivore, i'm glad you like it  :D

About the wind, well, I tried to did it as John Howe's Gandalf, but giving to the character a more "speedy" walking pose.

I really gonna consider your comment as improvement. ;)

Thanks again  ;D

I think you used a little bit too much dithering on the robe and cloak. Maybe tone the dithering down, everything else looks pretty good.
