Hey, what's up? I'm kinda new here but I figure I might as well get to the point.
I've been working (if you can even call it working) on a RPG project with friends called Auslander for awhile now, and basically I'm the artist guy. I made about 6 new enemies, but I'm totally perplexed on how I should color them. I'm totally new to pixel arting or color theory.

I learn much more by example than by being told stuff...anyone wanna have a try at coloring these? Thanks, in advance.
Here's the "development" blog (http://projectauslander.blogspot.com/), if you're interested.

This is one of them situations where you try it yourself, first, and then we can show you where you're goin' about stuff wrong. Generally asking people to do stuff for you makes you look like a gold-bricker.

Besides, what's with the hugeness, and the lack of refinedness? Really, they kinda look like not even fully cleaned sketches.

if you want to allow others to color your lineart, make use of the Lineart Thread (http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/index.php?topic=3972.0)
if you want critique on coloring - try your best, then ask for help. Do not ask others to do this for you. Thanks

Well, I already colored them but I erased them again a long time ago. It was really terrible so I said I'd rather have them uncolored.
They looked rushed I suppose because I'm a terrible artist.

Anyways I recolored it. I got rid of the main creature because it was oversized and ugly.
Please tell me what I'm doing wrong (especially with the creature on the top right), and how I can improve.

The probably look rushed because you didn't spend enough time coloring these.

???
I was talking about the line art. It took me three hours to color all that.
Look, I don't want to anger you guys or anything. This is seriously the way I color. Please, give me advice on how I can improve.

Cleaning the lines up will undoubtedly help. Try unifying your palette, sometimes that helps, sometimes it doesn't. Just keep trying stuff.

I think they look good. I like the style of these.. :)
Edit from staff: Please avoid one-liners

 Good for starters ... you need greater study into colour and shading theory though ... but when I was starting to pixel, it was coloured exactly like that. :)

I like your artwork whether people say it has unclean lines or not, I think you have a particular style and you should just go with it... It kinda reminds me of the artwork you might see in yoshis island. personally I think an rpg in this style would be kinda cool! I say start pixeling this stuff and start making that game!
