Hi everyone, I made this video tutorial to try and help out the people that are starting out on the whole shading thing and have some unanswered questions or basicaly don't yet have a concept of shading and how it is represented.
I hope this video helps you guys out. Its a part1 of a two part tutorial.
the next tutorial will be pixeling a human head using what this tutorial teaches.
tell me what you think and if you have questions please post them here instead oh a pm, cause this way they stay public and can be of use to any user that reads this.

I still have a lot of problems with shading, but this video clarified a number of things. The part about light bouncing off the ground, and the part about why some shadows are fuzzy and others are sharp was insightful. Looking forward to the next one.

Really great tutorial. However, I think the talking is very monotone and boring.

well I supose that as long as Im saying the right things and its free, you can forgive me for doing this at 2 am :D

I thought it was soothing. :3
Thanks for this.

Did you script this before you started? Parts of it seemed like you were trying to find the right way to explain something. Even if you had a very basic script before you started it might help.
Overall I thought the tutorial was great. I don't think the monotony is a problem. I would probably find it more annoying if you were very excited about these things... I'm interested to see how you'll go with the next one. Keep it up :D

I sort of have a bit of a line to follow. I did make the examples prior to recording it, so I sort of knew what I was going to say. but since english is not my real first language I sometimes get lost for words to better describe something.

I think you should work on the presentation. Shoot yourself infront of a bluescreen is some oldschool clothes, speaking spanish (or portuguese?) and then edit the background grey and put the pictures on the wall behind you. Then in the end add bad english subtitles. That would be perfect. :D
