Title: Cutesy Tiles
Post by: JonathanOfDrain on November 10, 2008, 07:40:38 pm
Been playing with some tiles. I like the saturated colors and over all cute look. I feel like some thinks don't fit right, I haven't done many tiles anyway.

Any C+C, ideas or edits are very welcome and very appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks Aregon, I think I will play with the grass a bit. Though the very simple look has been growing on me. Do you think it looks too tubey? Tubular?

Playing with the idea of enemies. Crab-ish shelled enemies. Snails or something. Throw some C+C at this if you'd like.

Why are you using a straight-on perspective? I always prefered having the camera psuedoly looking a bit down on the side from above.

That's a matter of preference, though, Draco  :P.

It's a mix of skill and preference.
We made the first game with really crummy graphics that I'm almost ashamed to show here.
For the sake of seeing how far I've come here it is. (http://coffeehat.uirpg.com/projects.php?id=1)
I've noticed the overly vibrant colors actually do hurt people's eyes. So I'm toning things down a little. Still vibrant, but not eye bleeding vibrant.

I've been playing with the grass tiles a little. I'm not sure if I should change the colors or just add another one or two.
