since i generally do my pixel art when i'm not connected to the internet (wireless) i rarely use references

i think the leaves are quite cool, but i don't like the bark of the tree. Looks like it has warts all over it.

That tree looks very scaly. It's a tree not a lizard. Look at a real tree when you get a chance. The bark isn't going to be that far apart or separated. Make bigger strips of bark. Also trees are rarely the brown we were programmed to color them. They're a gray. Go ahead, look.

The bark definitely looks scaly. But if you wanted to make a lizard-tree monster, THAT would be awesome.
