Title: MEAT (first post)
Post by: capncookie on August 27, 2008, 04:31:12 pm
This is my first post here.  I haven't done a lot of pixel specific art but i would like to do more as soon as I get all the right programs on my new computer.  This piece was done in photoshop.  i preserved the pixels when blowing it up by selecting an option during resizing that preserves crisp edges.  It took me forever to figure out but I had to print it out big without getting those fuzzy edges. There was no restriction to color and i think it was about 50x100(guess) pixels before blowing it up. let me know what you think and if you want to see my non pixel work check out my site.  I think my style could translate well into pixels. :D

this forum has a feature where you can click on an image to enlarge it. it's recommended that you post your work at 1x so we can see it that way, and zoom in on our own to look at the details

-Everything is so low contrast
-A lot of things are gradiented/flat (I guess that's part of the style, but ok)
-Some Hue Shifts would be nice
-How many colors does the background have?

ect.

But overall, It's Interesting; I like the idea.

reminds me a bit of "Don't Stop the Beat" music video.

specifically around 1:20 with the hotdog.  You might find this useful as a general reference of style, as I think this is what you're vaguely going for.
