Been away from pixelling for a while now, the last piece I worked on being these tiles in Jan/Feb:

Anyway I want to get back into the swing of things, so here's a couple of mock-ups, The penguin one started a while ago but never finished. I'll probably do another one in a jungle setting.

These are WIP so I'm open to any critique or changes. Thanks.

I love you choice of color, especially for the third mock-up!
The first tileset is my favorite one!
:)

I really like the first one, how do you get it to go dark around the edges?
-
the first one is beautiful, but I would go with a bigger background, and maybe make the top of the ground less gray and more brown
-
The slopes in the first one really bother me for some reason. Besides the fact they have no shading, I think they're showing a lot more than they should be.

Thanks for the replies. Had a fiddle around with the first one. Changed the background and slopes, which are maybe over done a little, but I really wanted to refrain from using more colours.

Started a forest to go with the other 2 mockups.

superb. /me still has much to learn to reach that level ...
Maybe the rock nearby the water would benefit being soaked (or maybe not. i cannot decide :/)
the "climbing to the right" slope looks nice, but i'm puzzled by the "climbing to the left" one. why that red tint ?
