Title: Ninja :Updated:
Post by: joe123 on August 06, 2008, 09:49:49 am
For my platformer, i personally like the colours and i see this piece near-enough done.

The only good thing is, with this sprite. The left foot is further back from the front, so i can now do the Torii at a more interesting angle :D

Just a very quick edit (all I did was re-do the ramp you have on there). Your current ramp, without even squinting, blurs into more or less a single shade of blue (at best two shades). Make better use of your colors.

Maybe like this?

Not sure if this is what you mean?

Also, this is the sky which i'm using :] I may change the gradient and make the gap in colours smaller.

The character will normally be standing on a building or something, just haven't done it yet.

Started to work on stationary, breathing animation.

Planning to add another frame at the end, so his legs bend lower.

I'll also fix the lighting since now.. the animation has different parts exposed to the lighter colour x.x

C+C please ;]

His feet shouldn't move in an idle.

Hi , if I can add anything, it would be that I like the Chibby-ness of your sprite here, and my own preference would be to have his feet perfectly still, planted, holding his weight..now that I think of it, I like the dark colour scheme better

I did a quick edit to show what others have been saying...right now his feet are shifting.  I think that's a bit unnecessary for a simple idle stance, if anything, he should just shift his weight up and down on his toes a bit.  Some of the motions, like his arm, could be a little less choppy.  The red circles indicate where there should be sub pixel stuff in his chest/legs/everywhere, I didn't do it 'cause it would take too much time.

Yours....Mine

You, of course, could also make what I did into a 3-frame animation, if that's what you were looking for...mine is six.

bump
Ok thanks, i was thinking of doing some inbetween frames, which would make the big movement smaller.

Thanks btw

Added more frames.

One with both the feet, placed firmly on the ground.

One where the left foot moves.

Which is better? Btw, the one when his foot moves.. it looks funny on one of the frames, tried to fix x.x
