Title: Megaman 9 Weekly Challenge Suggestion

There seems to be a lot of talk about the new Megaman 9 NES styled game doing the rounds at the moment and how people imagine how it should look.

May I suggest a weekly challenge that would allow us to all have a go at pixelling our ideal Megaman 9 mockup using the original NES pallete and limitations. It would also be good for those of us that missed out on the last NES weekly challenge as I know that the system had a lot of fans.

I think that a lot of people here would find it fun.

I support this idea. It would be interesting to see how many of us could do a better job than the actual people at Capcom.

True to nes spec and better than inti creates. Now there's a challenge. If someone pulls it off, it's surely going to cause some long faces.

OK give me a week or two to clear a few personal projects up and I`ll start it (I want to contribute too ;).)  Should be one to look forward to.

This is an awesome idea - would it help if I gathered some resource material like enemies, start screens and sprite frames?

I'm sure not going to go posting stuff up as it won't go down well, but I have a hell of a load of megaman stuff on my computer, plus there's a whole site dedicate to the art used in the games:

I was actually going to try and produce some more examples for the cinematendo challenge so this will ease me in nicely  :y:

Just wanted to post and say that I haven`t forgotten about this topic. I am just trying to finish off some freelance work before I start the Megaman 9 challenge but it shouldn`t take me too long.

Glad to hear it - if you need any help starting it off I'm more than happy to assist.

I loved the cinematendo topic and working within those restrictions, so I was happy to read that even the developers are adhering to strict hardware limitations like flicker and slowdown  :lol:
