Title: Iso Character assignment
Post by: ortodoxx on July 02, 2008, 07:38:21 pm
Well i got an assignment where i had to do a character from a concept with the restrictions:

16 color template
Max 70 pixels high and follows a 3x1 Isometric grid.

And here is the outcome.

the eyebrows was my biggest issue here.

Hey, from previous posts I can see you have pretty good experience whit isometric stuff....
But there are some inconsistence here if I am not wrong, I never worked whit 3x1 grid but I suppose it looks like the blue line I have on my image...yes? Well there you can see that your sprite is clearly on normal isometric view...correct me if I am wrong.
But hey I still like a lot your sprite, its very detailed...the only part that is bothering me are eyebrows...don't like how they are over the hat.

well. the 3x1 isometric grid is just the same as the 2x1 except you use 3 pixels instead of 2

example below.

I also took the time to rework my character.

I like but the dither in the hat, and the eyebrows don't look right to me. The dither looks like way to much over did it. And the eyebrows i have trouble noticing unless i enlarge it or look extreme close.
