first thing that came to mind was an abstract cigarette, but perhaps thats just my cravings...

are you going for something like the cigarette man from Nicorette commercials? maybe he can be of use here. . . in an inspirational sense, of course! ;p

My best recommendation here is draw before you pixel... not sure what to say here.
