Title: Newbie - Requiring Help And Advice!
Post by: Fox on May 24, 2008, 02:12:49 pm
Hi.

Ok basically ive only been messing around on paint until 3 days ago.

I had slowly been doing some pixelart of a character which had taken me many many hours. I was up until 2AM last night refining it and about 5 hours today looking over it.

I had quite literally, JUST JUST finished when photoshop cs3 closed on me and I havent saved it because I just leave my pc switched on.

Is there ANY way I can get it back? If not, I fear I may quit already. Seriously..this is such a blow, I only got to look at it for  3 seconds. :(

If you get a reverse and stop doing it because of the reverse, the acquired knowledge will get lost over the time. But if you continue, you don't just get the chance of progress, you even get the chance of understanding the mean of the ten thousand things.

So the question is not “how do I get back my arbitrary chunk of bits”, the question is “why do I need to get it back”.

Although slightly confused by your post I think I understand. The reason I want my pixels back is because I wished to post them here so that I could be informed how to improve. Now I wont get that chance! :(

An' he's saying you've already improved in making that piece, whether it was lost or not. Myself in your situation, I'd give myself a break of a few weeks and then vault back into it.

...though photoshop has a temporary autosave, does it not?

I dont think it does have a temporary autosave. Whenever it closes I think its just gone for good, which really sucks. ._.

Guess I'll take your advice and take a break for a while and try and get back into it later.

Thanks for all your help,

(Sorry about posting in the wrong section btw!)
