Title: Icon/Avatar
Post by: miscdude on May 24, 2008, 05:38:59 am
Getting a bit back into pixel art... New avatar I decided to make. My Username is Miscdude, so I wanted to make something more miscellaneous.

6 colors...I rather like it, but I can't figure out how to improve it. Might've just been staring at it too long. Any c&c would be great ^^

cool design, i have an issue
the mustard is not much pronunciated, i guess you could
make it a bit more visible, cause it's hard to read it at 1x
2: the light on the side of the M-Thing...i think you could extend it a bit
more...maybe a line or two dithered, you know?
it looks cool so far!

Palette change, new background. I'm really not liking the border anymore, any suggestions?

You're pixelwork seems fine. I say drop the border, it dosnt add anything. See what happens when you make the stripes unified, perhaps?

Like I said, pixel pushing is good, but I'm not sold on the design. The hand seems very strange, squished to fit in with no symmetrical counterpart.

Thanks ^^ I see what you mean about the hand, but could you please explain what you mean by making the stripes unified?

I fixed the hand up a bit

edit:Also fixed the positioning of the eye

I should have said 'uniform width', I apologize. Have you tried one without the hand? I'm not sure what would look better, but you should explore your options.

I personally prefer your original background design, with low contrast and an interesting design.  The stripes seem to kind of clash in style with your character's curvy design, while the swirls fit in more.
