Title: [WIP] Crystals Maze

Hi all,
since a while without posting some stuffs.

so...
I'm working this time on a real game for the Nintendo DS system with a french coder. It's a sort of a remake of a japan game named Stroke (a sokoban-like) but with a "quest" touch.
I'm making 2D and 3D graphics to use both screens and to get two graphic styles.

so that's the current version :
the character in 3D low poly format :

I'm beginning with the 2D version to have a quick and better feeling of what I want. I will reuse all tiles to make 3D textures.

the next step for the game is to finish all assets from the first world.

Looks pretty cool, though currently it doesnt read very well or rather doesnt read at all where the 2D character is looking in the small mockup. I found out he's looking down, but only at 3x zoom.

Looking ace so far :D did you know I have your portfolio in my faves for about 3 weeks now?
all your work rocks XD currently making a portfolio myself as well, also pixels (not the work but the lay-out)

Must say your low-poly characters are amazing... can you teach me ? :P

@elk : it's a Maya temple(the entrance precisely), there will be other environments like water ruins, lava...always on this Maya temple.

@crow : yes, you have right with the head. It's updated :)

The new jewel reminds too much of Zelda. Otherwise this is looking very solid.
Some long shadows directly underneath the lamps might look neat.
Have to say I'm not understanding the broken line underneath the lamps on the green.

Great work so far, MadPXL!

I really think, the Ice Cave does not work. The toches right at the ice wall? Shouldn't they melt? Ok, small thing, but if you have torches, they should be in a seperated candelaber or just use light from the outside (I think Zelda did it that way?). The other thing is the just recolored underground. I don't think this work. Ice has a complete different texture/material than stone. You should remake the underground for every world I think.
The rupee should have more contrast, the side is barely recognizable. I'm not sure how good the NDS screen is, but the GBA screen is pretty bad afaik.

I thought the latter one was supposed to be watery, and the broken line Faceless mentioned was the waterline. The random horizontal lines don't really work, and It took me a second just to figure out what they were for. Something more obviously water would be more fitting, even if used only as sparsely as you have those "-"s now.
