I felt like doing a mock-up. Turned out really... special. ;)

What do you think?

I tried to fix somethings I didn't like. Like the fact that the main character was showing his back.
Also added a dialogue box, wich says, in French: "Hé! Toi! Il faut retrouver les couleurs avant qu'elles ne disparaissent à jamais." (Hey! You! We need to find the colors before they disapear forever.")
I have the idea of this game were the evil is B+W and the good is in color. You have a color gun and you have to "paint" the enemies with it. It would be a side-scroling RPG/Shouter.
So, here it is: (http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/2875/mockupdialogueuu5.gif)

Umm, this is very stylish and I have a hard time coming up with critique but I just have to say that I dig it a lot (:
Especially the concept. Emo-colour-pompadour man in colourless world. It's wonderful (: Sooo, I just wanted to give you some pep so that you continue :D

I too like the style. It's very unique and kinda looks like a mix of NES and Gameboy. I'm a big fan of the retro look. hehe

Thanks!
I hesitate on something, should I make the no-color world zero saturation or is it fine with this brun kinda look?
-
I would go with very low saturation. not quite zero though so you can still convey mood and such. then in the painted world go for hyper saturation. My only crit is that the screen size would make the game very annoying to play, especially if it's a shooter.

The gray hues you have right now are fine, I think!
Anyhow, a bigger screen size opens up for big beautiful scenes, so I say go for that!
