Title: Handgun- Strange perspective
Post by: Dragen on November 21, 2007, 01:48:39 am
Here is an old handgun I did, I was going to do a guy holding it, but I decided not to.  I don't think I will doing any more work on this, I just want to see what you think.

the only thing that bothers me are the jaggy lines.

Strange perspective is right!  The front needs a little skewing, as the only way you'd see it at that angle would be if the gun weren't turned at all.  Also, the laser is at a 45 degree angle, but the gun isn't.  That line would follow the angle of the gun.   I am horrible at drawing guns, so I can only give you a little advice there and it'll probably be way off, but there are a few things that are bothering me about it's design.  The handle looks a little to straight up and down.  I think handles tilted top forward a little more for an easier grip.  Also, it seems to be missing a the hammer.  Don't all handguns have hammers?  It does look like a gun though, and the perspective of the barrel looks nice.  Why aren't you going to work anymore on this?  This would be a good piece to practice on, and get looking really nice.

Most handguns don't have hammers, and I see what you mean about the lasersight being at 45 degrees, but if I put it a few off, it would throw off the gradient and I don't think it would look as good.  Maybe I should continue on this.  And yeah, for the record, the handle and trigger I think look pretty bad.
