Title: board game
Post by: Dirteater on October 07, 2007, 12:44:50 pm
Ive just started working on this cup game, its actually for a "bum" in an alley street on a game im working on.

Im not sure how to make the board itself more interesting, and also how to add decent sratched to make it seem as though its been used loads

Also not sure what sort of border to make :o

But crits are thanked :D ^_^

Well, since this is for a mini-game run by a "bum", maybe make the board look like a weathered plank, or maybe the top of a beat-up old crate

Light source is odd and I agree with Merick on what it should be on, though this does look 'middle-age' themed, so maybe the bum should be a bum from the middle ages?

On the board, you could probably make the paint look like it's peeling off.

You should wear it a bit below where the cups slide around, more than everywhere else, but chip the edges and stuff as well. Expose the wood or whatever underneath, maybe. The checkerboard pattern probably has to be modified a little to suit the same perspective as the cups. Just make the squares a bit rectangley, wider then they are deep.

You get a lot of useful references if you Google Image Search for 'peeling paint' or 'chipped paint', if that's what you want.
