Title: [WIP]Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
Post by: enekororo on September 10, 2007, 05:01:50 am
I was listening to the song and couldn't think of a better title.

So, anyway...

I'm fairly new to this site and pixel art in general, and I need help (hope I'm not sounding like a whiny-brat, or too demanding)

I think I went overboard on the dithering
HELP ME WITH THIS DITHERING THINGY

My epic fail: (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v611/Enekororo/epicfail.gif)

Do note that light is coming from the bottom and the skeleton's right
I probably did the lighting all wrong, too :(

Do not worry, your epic fail can be turned into an epic win(Not actually too bad at the moment). You should look at some of her pixel art, since she is the dithering queen. There's not much to complete at the moment, so I won't even attempt any edits on it til you put more effort into it(Protip: Use a 50% gray for the BG, make sure you know the color theory). You need to define a lightsource, add more contrast and uh, yeah, thats all I got so far, well, he's the Grim Reaper right? Why with the green cloak?

Don't get carried away with the stippling at this point...

Rough out your general color fills across the whole piece, then add the hilights and the shadows and THEN stipple if you need to...

Just keep pushing and playing with it until you're happy... don't give up so readily...

@ bengoshia:
Grim Reaper carries a scythe, right? This one has a staff..

The reason for the green cloak is because he is kind of 'holding' light, and I wanted it to be green light

But I think I'll go with baccaman's suggestion and finish with the general colors first..
