Update:
optimized the color, i think it stands out more then before
-
Wow.
Looks like a rather beautiful environment, really, I hope you don't lose your will to work on it anytime soon. However, the dirt seems to fade with the. yellow grass/rocks kind of awkwardly, one of my only few criticism here. That, and you might have to anti-alias/AA or darken that bright shade on the tall grass.

Thx for reply....
Can you help me on that?
the problem is i am running out of colors......
I the limitation is 31+trans, and after i optimize it, it uses 20 already......
I still got water and charactor to fit in the remaining 11 color

You can transition that path pretty easy without adding any colors by simple doing truffs of grass lying over the path instead of just having a flat-line transition.
-
it looks amazing to me, but (and i feel kinda bad giving criticism on someone much better than me) i thought that the grass that everyone else is takling about was gravel with weeds growing out of it, from it's difference in colour to the other plants and it being near the long grass, that tile doesn't seem realistic as grass as the rest of the tiles... I mean, it looks good, but i don't think i've encountered anything like that in that sorta place

I bridged the value gap between the darker shade in the foliage and the next one. I'd edit the tile as well but I can't really reassemble the mockup to check how it would work.

I am going to do that this evening

it's just i don't see that sort of plant all over the floor in that sort of scene. i'm just doing it because you asked, i don't mean to nitpick on a point that's not really that important

I just thought your colors needed a little bit more fun :P
(http://www.locustleaves.com/mockup_1_wip.png)
The other thing, this is a very messy style with a lot of broken colors and noise. You may like that, but it might also look better to be simplified.

Yeah, i think so too, but i only have 31 colors, so i have to share a lot, there are still characters need to be fit in it......
is there a way to get around with it?

i teach myself by studying others' sprites, bcos i cant find whole lot of good tutorials. do you have any tutorials that suggested?
talking about the styles, i would like to learn other styles too. what would you suggest me to start with?
I have to say that i am new to pixeling, so plz bear with me.
Update:

so i move it down.
is it looks better now?
This is your last warning! Please use the Modify button and do not quote images! Thank you!

any suggestion on this?
To AdamAtomic: Sorry about that, my bad. I only saw it now....
-
Yes. My suggestion is to study reference and not invent anatomy
(http://images.jupiterimages.com/common/detail/37/42/22414237.jpg)
-
Wow, that's a good reference. I'm going to keep that! :)
On topic: Are you still working on the mockup? If so, I suggest you lower the sat of those yellows/oranges/reds; they're too harsh. I actually think the piece was too soft before, and it's too harsh now, especially the new dark brown, which makes everything look a bit too messy.
Just my thoughts.

Don't double post within a few seconds. :mean: Use the modify button or post everything at once. - Panda

the optimized background looks really nice, just not with suck vibrant oranges clashing in front of it, I would soften the tones a bit.
-
wow.... this is what is going on last week.
basicaly, they are graphic for an india mobile game
(http://www.freewebs.com/yueprofile/OrenB_Show.gif)
i know there are sort of muscular problems....
and i talked to them, but their concept is like that..... so dunt pick on that....
Notice that there are some highlights lost during gif optimization for internet.
T_T
And here is the update of my mock up
(http://www.freewebs.com/yueprofile/Mockup_1st.bmp)
