Hello, and welcome to the forum. These are pretty cool, but the shading on the globe in the first one seems strange. What's causing the shadow to be irregular like that?

Probably the continents.

Wow, that's a massively active solar storm. I feel sorry for whatever spaceship is close enough to photograph that. I've done a bit of one-bit pixel art (mostly on my calculator in math class), and must say that these are quite nicely done. However, I do echo EyeCraft's questioning of the shading of the planet. It looks interesting, but it's kind of hard to tell what is what. I know there's only so much defining you can do with one bit, but a clearer shoreline (if those are indeed continents) would probably help define them as such. Anyway, these are really cool; I look forward to seeing more from you.

yeah, its continents. i think its easier to see on the top one, the other should probably be smaller.
anyway, im glad you all mostly like them ;)

I think what trips me out about it is that the water is darker than the land where its close to the star, whereas the water should become brighter because it would be reflecting the light more than the landmasses.
