Title: George Bush Pixel Portrait
Post by: Andy Tran on June 18, 2007, 09:16:18 pm
Hey guys, it's been awhile since I've posted a piece on Pixelation. This is actually a remake of an old george bush pixel version piece I made.

I can't say that I can see the resemblance.

looks more like Steve Martin. Bush's face is much rounder, and shorter. I think that a good reference is what yah need.

Yea, I'm not reading Bush either to be honest.

I agree with the others about no resemblence. Look at some political cartoons, they overexagerate his monkey like face. So, make him more monkey like!

Ironically enough, I think the portrait is reading as John Kerry... :p

I read it as John Kerry, as well! I just couldn't remember his name.

One thing you really need to do when drawing real-life people is rely heavily on references.  At least until you start to learn how to draw the person in question. Until then, I'd suggest you look at a reference for pretty much every pixel you put down on a portrait that size. Maybe I'm just saying that because I suck at drawing people, but references do always help a lot.

Thanks, yesterday I was kinda lazy I didn't wanted to use any references. Just thinking of a cartoon version of him so I did this.

Yeah most portraits without a reference, you will not end up with much of a likeness.. But, it does look like John Kerry..so just say you were doing a portrait of John Kerry, and you'll be fine

I think it looks more like Glenn Robbins:
