Title: Isometric is Cruel for me
Post by: Andrew331 on November 15, 2019, 07:22:16 pm
I recently wanted to venture into making isometric,

3D cube tiles for another just-for-fun mockup,
but even making a sim ple isometric cube is difficult to me!
I aleways try and it looks wrog, i'm not even sure of what measurements I need.

Does the cube have to fit in a 16x square if I want them to be 16x tiles? I'm really jsut lost and I can't seem to find any tutorials at all in specifics to tilesets

I have never tried isometric before and I'm still new to pixel art but I have something in my tutorial folder that might help you. Try drawing on this grid.

I'm with Quaesitor, drawing on a grid really helps out. I always use a grid when doing iso stuff. Also i'd start off with square/rectangle shapes, like simple-ikea-ish dressers, fridges, night stands etc. Curvilinear and other complex stuff can be daunting to start out with.

I'd definitely take a look at existing iso stuff to get an impression of how other artists might tackle iso stuff.  :y:

When you feel comfortable, you could post some screenshots of your iso stuff, i'd be down with doing a drawover if you need help.  :)
