Title: My first attempts at pixel art
Post by: CJX on May 07, 2007, 12:10:38 am
I'm making a browser-based MMORPG (*groan* I hear you say - judging by the employment thread I'm not very original)

Anyway, I'm more of a programmer than an artist, but I had a go at making some initial graphics to pretty up what was before just a bunch of coloured squares. General advice on improving these and how to go about pixelling properly would be really appreciated. I want to completely re-do the sprite from scratch - any advice on how to do that would be great too.

Here they are:

Thanks for the help...

For an odd reason I realy like the sprite, I dont know why it might be the cartoonyness of it but its realy awesome.
Some tips, you need to add depth so on the sign put a top like the stump with the tree the bottom looks like it has some depth but the top looks like a sticker and placed on the grass.

Thanks Atrophy, I changed the sign so it has a top to it (I think that's what you were getting at).

If the sprite isn't too bad, then maybe I'll just edit it some better clothing rather than start from scratch...
