they are really ugly...but in a way that makes the piece really intersting.
i am also a huge sucker for colors that are off the beaten path.

Probably because he didn't make the lineart.
I like it, but what is sticking out of the Dragon? Maybe change it into an arrow, or something else immediately recognisable.

Or change it into spit. How cool would a dragon spitting through its belly button be?

This is awesome! You've got your dragons down to an art. Love the colors and the texturing. At first i didn't understand what that thing on his belly was either, then i figured out it was a lance from the knight. Initially thought it was part of the "speaking" balloon part.

They are possibly the most beautiful colors iv ever seen

I immediately read it as a spear, though I guess fool should confirm this
anyways, nice work, colours look fine, utilized nicely.. no colour can be considered ugly, just depends if you use it in an ugly way

That might be my case. ;D I feel those colors might work on cartoonish, less detailed style.

you never stop amazing me.
the speer thing is a bit ureadable, and i couldnt read the text at first, but other then that, it looks amazing. i love the palette and the way that they look blended, and the warrior thing is funny :)

About the colors, there is absolutely nothing wrong with them, it's so obvious that it's a swedish dragon 0:

those colors normally suck and are annoying, but they work lovely together here, I say keep it.
i just noticed the end of his tail has practically no detailwork done on it

a lot better. yellow and blue are not good dragon colors.

I still love the blue/yellow version though. Humourous with the text and very striking colour scheme.

personally, i dont like how the colours are just layered over the shading. i think it'd look better if the colours were more confined to the scales.

Bring back the text!
The spear is much more readable now, which is good, but this new colour scheme is too dull for the comic nature of the piece.
So in that regard, I prefer the Blue and Yellow.

I like how you changed the wing on the new version, but I definitely prefer the blue/yellow color scheme.
Also the spear on the new version doesn't look like it stabbed through the dragon in my opinion.
And yeah bring back the text.
Looking neat.

maybe you could add some effect on the cape of the knight? it seems that its windy in the pic because of the breath :P

I prefer the second one two.. but I can't say the first one is bad... the design of the dragon doesn't look very cartoony, so I like it with the new colors, but actually the drawing is kind of joke, and for that part, the first colors work better imo.. :)
(but if you remove the text, yep the new colors are better, it just looks more adult.. )

About color scheme i like both )) Just first is more funny, but please put text into smog
I am mark pieces a red line, when in older version look it better, in my opinion.

The breast with stomach great nice playful line in blue-yellow, but in last edit you emphasize this line too much.
Me like his bone on shoulder and elbow - it's compatibility with his head, which crowned many bones.
His foot have more readability early (now too much shadow).
And scales in begin tail have intresting flash. And light scales (on yellow-blue) have flash look as reptile - it's good!

I think I like first colors version as well, I will just try to fix it tonally and maybe simplify some textures to get to cartoon level. Text will be there only in a cloud insted of being stroked - just not get to it yet.=)
how long do you spend on such a piece? I wonder if you are really fast or just very patient
A few evenings, I don't know, it is not something I do intensively - when I need a breake from other crap.=)

There's slightly too much green in the blues, it creates this neon effect.

I think the creases on the wings were much better darker ..

Aww, I liked the old spots. This one looks like an old map stretched over the wings.
