Please Crit this poor knight out of its misery.

If you really want shiny, you'll have to put your highlights next to dark shades.

No other crits, it's looking pretty solid. Good job.

neat!  I agree he could use a tad more contrast, and maybe move the shield out away from his body a bit, or angle it differently - it doesn't look like there is room for a whole arm in there.  Only other thing that strikes me a little odd is he appears to have a thick katana, rather than some kind of traditional european blade.  very nice start!

@Gil: Quite right, quite right. I'll fix that.

@AdamAtomic: I tried drawing a silhouette of its arm, and I see your point. About the sword, pure lazyness on my part.

addressed the issues mentioned above, and some other stuff too.

The sword is out of perspective with the arm now. Nice edit...

I rather liked the old sword actually, it was just the tip that was making it read funny.  Anyways, keep at it!

looks great, but i think you should finish the outline all around with at least the medium blue. dark outline and then AA grey in some places is kind of weird in my view.

(http://www.artcyclopedia.com/images/raphael-transfiguration-study.jpg) History disagrees!

However, one of the things i've found in my own work is that traditional techniques that work well on paper do not work well in game art, where goals are different.  sprites need to come out of the picture in the most "ugly" of fashions in order to be readable and attractive in a game.

brownie points to the first person to name the artist and the work without looking at the URL
