I've been a fan of this site for a while and someone has finally convinced me to sign up and post this work.
I made it probably towards the end of last year, and it's just been sitting on my computer since then.

i think you need to make better use of shading up the contrast a bit the only differnt shade i can see is that of the cd drive....
also look at the corner of any object.. i bet it isn't a black line? the corners on the inside (the outer lines can be left black or even just a darker shade) should be a lighter than the sides of the object, as thats where the light catches it most and so it looks brighter.

Okay, I took the advice (thanks!) and redrew the lines. I also added more (not much though) shading to the PC.

Jpeg. !yus! Nice improvement though. The keyboard is way too busy. Would probably be better to change the keys' outlines from black as well. Also, the part where the shadow from the monitor and the side connect doesn't make much sense.
Also, I think you should up the contrast. Or just get rid of some of the redundant colors.

About the monitor shadow, which part do you mean? The left, or the right?

.png and .gif work well for file formats. Some programs screw up the saving of .gifs, though and lose quality or distort colors, so I use .png.
Wow, yoe can't tell me you're using every color in that palette for the moniter. Look! I can hardly tell the difference between the two shades right next to the last one! Looks like you just selected two colors and made a gradient between them and thought "cool, I've got a palette." If that's what you did, I suggest hand picking each color. If you did hand pick each color, then I apologise for accusing you otherwise, but you really need to cut down on colors. Especially since everything has hard edges and doesn't really need a smooth transition.
Also, the shadow being cast by the moniter, see that little part of the shadow that overhangs the edge of the CPU? Well, it should be vertically stretched, since the surface changes in its slant. If the surface a shadow is cast on changes its...slant or rotation or steepness or what-have-you - anything that's not perpendicular to the lightsource - the shadow conforms to the new surface shape.

When picking the colours for the monitor, I believe I just picked a suitable colour and then used some slider to change the shade.
Anyway, I cut out a couple of colours that weren't doing much and worked around the rest to keep the shadows and highlights looking okay.

The edge at the top of the monitor should be a darker colour because it's at the back of the object where the light is hitting the edges from the front. Unless the back of the monitor is raised over the top..if you get what I mean.

Pretty much yes, but there seem to be some dit-dah combinations that don't make sense, perhaps did forget some spaces?
