Title: cultured female
Post by: eck on March 07, 2007, 02:19:29 am
got board, felt like pixeling, and just stole the idea off of pixelator.

one of my first sprites BTW, probably my third.  basically, i need help womanising the face and hair, because as of now, she looks a bit... err... broken-faced.

normally wouldn't post crap like this, but i would rather learn how to sprite correctly before i screw myself up even more.

pallet stolen off of indigo, because I'm lazy :mean:.  thanks indigo :-*.

You're missing a bracket on the closing img tag.  You might want to fix that.

Looks decent; sorry I don't really have time to comment right now.

you forgot the first bracket in the last img holder...

Her boobs seem kinda...huge.
Things look sorta weird, with her anatomy especially. I understand reality may not be the main focus, but this just looks too strange for me. Here hips are as narrow as a male's-possibly even narrower. Her feet seem strangely positioned also..I think it would look a wee bit better if it were to lean more towards the anatomy side of things. I'm enjoying the tribal/caveman type culture, and hope to see an edit!

***EDIT***

Son of a beetch, Robalan! You beat me to it...

Well, I did an edit...

I added more definition to the face, and messed with the anatomy and shading. I suppose it says it better than I can..

I think the face, especially the right (our right) cheekbone is too defined. Maybe try slimming down the face? The breasts look like they are too... high, I suppose that would be the right term. They don't look like gravity is affecting them at all.

It's the other way around.
The face isn't as defined as the rest of the body.

Yeah, remember, women have large muscular thighs (for birth giving). The breasts are a little awkward :-\.

She seems to have very thick knees.  And, yeah, her bust is too perky.  Bringing them down may help with the face.

Actually, I probably should have said prominent.

The hips should stick out more in my opinion :-\.

Here's my edit, to help illustrate what I would personally work on, anatomy wise.  The feet were at odd angles,  I felt the calfs (calves?) need to be smaller, the waist thickened, and the breasts lowered and reduced in size.

Great edit Cure. You also bring up a good point that you (Eck) should leave the gold bits and accessories till the end, or it'll probs get in the way and be confusing.

I agree, that was a good edit. And it made me notice how the fingers looked like claws... you should always keep the 4 fingers together unless if you're doing some finger pose. Also, the fingers looked like they were pointing down. When your hand is at rest, your fingers should always be bent inward (go ahead try it).
