Darker pallete. Definitely. (Of course, this is a laptop and laptop screens suck so I may not be seeing 'em right).
Also, the way you dithered the hair makes it look like bark.

mm it doesnt really keep to the Faries from Zelda..where are the vines that barly cover the nipples?..Anyways its alright I suppose, but the hair jsut loks like random scribblings, not actualy hair.

The contrast is far too high to use dither and hair texture. If you want to keep this harsh palette, I suggest you go for flat shading...

that's actually the character Din from the GBC game Zelda: Oracle of Seasons.

Yeah, she's Din. And I think it needs this dithering

It looks like she has fur instead of hair... I think you should make it looks more like a nice long and silky hair...
But all the rest looks very good, I would change a bit the shadowing in her clothes removing the lightest color, but this way looks good too...  :)

I agree with gil, go for a more flat look, vector-ish, almost. the zelda style was more cell-shaded, if anything, not psuedo-realistically dithered.

@malor: wtf! Link to the Past was the greatest zelda ever! snesforever.

Oracles came out after OOT didn't they?

Anyway, yeah, ditch the texture in the hair.

I think he just meant in terms of consoles, although the GBC ones came out later, they were for gameboy.

Her arms also seem short, not sure if that's just the style. are there any reference pictures?

I think the dithering in the latest looks smeared and unrealistic, first was better.
And about Zelda: I think Link to the Past was good, but it was the only Zelda to ever frustrate me because it was so hard. And I actually really like the newest. But it's a little too easy at times.
