Working on an iso base and I thought I'd get feedback (especially on the front/back.)

the legs get longer in the angled directions, otherwise it looks pretty good so far.

Ok, am I crazy to try to make one this big?

It's 8 frames. That's just one direction out of 8. That's a male base, half the characters wouldn't ever use it. Should I go smaller?

the size is fine, the frames are not. there needs to be knee movement/bending in all of the frames. there needs to be a frame where his foot hits the ground. there needs to be a crossover frame. those are all missing.

you should read http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/index.php?topic=2932.0 - there are some very useful techniques being discussed for isometric walk and run animations.
here is entivore's reference which i think you will find particularly useful and illustrates what eck is saying
Personally I think it looks worse, like the legs are randomly kicking out.

*edit* here's a reference, made via poser

Well, I worked on the original base a bit, made the legs suck less, and made him taller. The other one just looks too... eh, so many things wrong with that.

The walk is an ugly 4 framer (3 unique) like in FFTA. I may fix it later if the team gets on my case enough...
