Haven't done anything serious lately. I decided to start on a platform game using my character Jack as the main focus. ::)

So far only have the basic shading and coloring and shaping up done.
I decided to stop at this point and get some hard-on critique because it looked odd to me. The whole thing. :-\
Thanks in advance for all the help I'm sure I'll get. ;D

It looks ok so far, I like the hair, but all the colors need some more contrast.
You should work on putting details into the face, and give him some legs.
I like the style, but maybe you should color the lines, and work on the arm(It looks jagy).
But I can see a great sprite in this.
I can't wait, to see this finished.

The legs are there, just not visible, they will be though in the game :)
As for the colors contract - you are very right, thank you.
And the black contour will definately go away because of the jagidness and size.

Um, I think there should be a one pixel offset between the pants and the shirt instead of two. That also means Jack's other arm could show more. Hair can also use a few strands instead of being one huge block.
I'd like to see more. Post it after you finish the eyes and anti-aliasing, please. Good luck with the game. :D

Made that update without your critique, Crazy. Sorry :-\ I'll gather some more cc and then update including your's.
I'm not sure what you mean by "offset" I'm a noobie. :-X
The hair... that's just a style I drew him with the pencil. So I don't know. I'll work on it.
EDIT: never mind :) I get what you are saying about the offset. Thanks.

Still working on the hair. :-\ No idea how to do it by strands.

Don't try adding too many strands. If you do, the hair will look like a pixelated mass. Try pixeling the hair in clumps, and just use lines to show where the clumps meet.
