the spine is a bit off centre, but the dithering is cool.  I especially love the skulls in the pants.

But despite the awesomeness, now I'm sad cause you said Chernobyl  :(

i love the hues and shading of the pants. I feel there's a lack of contrast on the shoes. Also the white gets lost in the lightest colour.
Regardless of the anatomy/pose problems i like this a lot.

There making a game about Chernobyl. Inspired you?. Very nice. Porportioning it would help but anyway overall good!. Hey, if anyone can PM links of these mutations after Chernobyl it would be very cool.

The face looks kind of cartoonish and throws off the effect of the rest of the picture, making it look kind of comical. I think reworking the eye and mouth (to more closely resemble the sketch.) will fix this though. (actually you could just remove the eye completely, that would look suitably freaky)

Its very solid pixelwise.

This is very competently pixelled, and I enjoy your color choices so much. But! Anatomy, man! You're doing a disservice to you by drawing tube arms on such otherwise nicely rendered stuff. I can do a photoshop edit (no pixelart edit on this, would take too long unless I just block out shapes), if you'd like either, talk.

Makes me think of Cthulhu (did I spell that correctly?) Granted I haven't read much (any) of the Cthulhu mythos, so no one dissect that comment too much. Anyway, perhaps you could add some contrast to his innards by adding some more darkness in there, especially along the "back wall" of his insides. I'm curious what it would look like if you almost blacked it out and just caught the detail with highlights (not curious enough to do an edit, though.) Its a dark, mysterious, grotesque piece; I love it!

...Hey, I just now noticed his little mouth. It looks like a really fat kid's smile.

Thanks all.

Meta|Fox: I tried changing up the face and getting rid of it, but I think I like the eye like it is. You do have a point about the mouth, though. I think I'll see if I can't come up with something creepier.

Helm: Yes, please! I've been trying to get down various anatomy things lately, but arms, for all their "simple" armness, seem to elude my abilities. An edit would be muchly welcomed.

Pixelsforhire: Thanks. I like the idea of just having like, glistening innards. I might try that.

On another note, if I can manage to get this one right, I might make a Chernobyl family.

Thanks for all the replies and helps, people!

i already think this is your best piece technically, and im sure after helms paint over the anatomy wont bring it down at all! kudos on improvement.

Ok, I see now, thanks muchly, Helm.
But in your edit...are those right proportions? The arms look a bit short. They only come to the crotch?

Helms proportions look pretty good.

To be honest, the general shape of Helms edit of the arms are correct, but yes, Xion is correct in the disproportionate arms in comparison to the legs. They seem like a 13 year old's arms attached to an adults. Also, I would try repositioning the pose a bit(mainly due the illusion that his boots are giving. They seem to be flat for some reason. I can't really explain what I see wrong with it, but something about them is screwy), as well as giving him some junk in the crotch region, as it's still looking pancake-ish(flat). Also, the hip region is a little high to be both a male, or female. I would try to edit to show what exactly I'm talking about, but I'm afraid it would be to no avail, since I'm not much on anatomy either....that and you're my sworn enemy for 2 weeks.

The musculature in Helm's edit is more detailed/accurate, but the arms are too small, mostly because the shoulder muscles and overall mass are reduced too much. The best way to gauge correct propotions is to hold your arms down, and take note of where the major body parts lay. I'm a tall guy, so when my arms are at rest, the elbows end about 2" above my hips, and with fingers extended, my hands end about 2" above the top of my kneecaps. In the original, the arms are ever so slightly elongated, due in part I believe, to the shoulders, which look a bit saggy/too far down. Work off the general muscle study of Helm's edit, but stay closer to the volume of the original, and you should get what you're looking for.

ah yes, the legs need to be half a head longer on the shin, and another on the thingh. It's hard to count heads when the character doesn't have a normal head.
