Title: Good'ol Animation
Post by: Chaos Tayoko on January 05, 2007, 12:51:00 pm
I recently started working on a base for an online game, and well when I got to the actual animation, I found myself lost not knowing procedure, I felt like i was in a dark room having to feeling my way around. At the end, looking ar some reference and getting some help from my two buddies Aczidenz and Ryumaru I got by, but I wasn't sure if i did it in an affective manner. Perhaps wat I am really asking is, Is there a set guideline for animation? Do you use the previous state for the next frame? Or do you re construct the entire sprite? Is feeling around until you get it right the "right" way? I would be more then happy with some linkage, but i really want to hear your past experiences and your techniques when animating.

there's many ways to animate... personally I work on the age old principle of creating my key frames then tweening them... buy a book about it... (see my sig) you really won't regret it...as the questions you ask are answered in full...

alternatively Check out this post I made yesterday... for a diluted heads up...

I don't think I've ever done an animation like that, maybe I should try....

usually i just go frame by frame sketching it out and then pixeling it when it looks right, or in some cases i pixel the first frame then just paste it and alter each next frame.
