Title: [CC] First time doing 100x100 sprite, need feedback on shading
Post by: awh13 on November 24, 2018, 07:34:39 am
I'm doing the knight from Trine 2, this is the first time I do a sprite larger than 64x64 and I'm extremely tilted. I don't know how to shade his body, leg and shield right now, they have some details printed on which confuses me further. I'd appreciate some critiques.

*rough edit*

For something like armor, keep in mind it's highly reflective and you should see a reflection from that cape as well as light from your light source. Your sprite looks pretty good, but the lighting is weak, as you probably know.

I actually disagree with the above poster, not all metal is quite That Shiny. it's good for well worn or dirty armor especially to be somewhat matte like your original post, in fact.
