Pixelation

Hey everyone, I'm David. I run the site Latent Medium. In the past Latent Medium has been many things. It's always been my personal site, it was a board for awhile, and now I would like to get your opinions on its next incarnation.

(Note: This is just a mock-up of what it will look like. None of the backend has been coded yet.)
The concept is a big ol' showcase site similar to others out there (for example, http://www.netdiver.net/, and http://www.stylegala.com/), but with an emphasis on solely on the pixel community. I'm asking for your opinions on the concept and design now as it is much easier to change things right now than later down the road.
Please though, don't think that I'm trying to compete with PAO or any other site out there. If anything I would like to work in conjunction with those site. PAO is mainly about teaching how to make good pixel art, while I would be focused on showing those who have done so.
All comments would be greatly appreciated.

Good. I like it. It's very clean and minimal, and while it doesn't exactly smell like pixels it's not unsuited to the subject matter. Also, it's a bit easier on the eyes than the two sites you posted.

It's crisp and fresh, looks clean as far as mockups go. What I'm wondering is why you don't have pixelation as a community site on the community list??? hmm?? hmm?? what's the deal with that mister? Anyway...

There is a link to the PAO main page, and that PAO main page has a link to pixelopolis :P
