im feeling like doing a collaberation with someone/s . If your up for it please feel free to pm ideas, or even better, post them here. maybe we could get a small group (5 maximum). just something to work on over the next couple of weeks, casual no pressre. Also if people have any new ways to do a collab - rather than just the tile based image and each person pixels in their own tile. i would love to here them. ive been thinking about different ways for a while and have yet to come up with anything.

I've been wanting to to a collab for ages. I don't have any additional ideas yet though ???

i really have to draw a lot more, would like to get in on a collab. that reminds me, i hope theres another King of Spriters soon...
well theres an idea, a fighting game mockup.

Me got's a couple O'ideas:
Idear' 1: We could do the draw my character idea, that eat poo does.
Ex. Panda: draws some elephant
Ptoing: draws his version of Panda's elephant
draws a weird sweaty creature, with tengou-type nose
Feron: draws his version of Ptoing's weird tengou creature
draws his....you get the point
This goes on and on. If someone doesn't post after claiming his turn after 8 hours, than he can either post to be "SKIPPED" or just be skipped anyways.
El idea 2: We could choose random pixel scene pieces that we have done in the past, or present, and have another member post some type of funny caption for it. For any one who has read FHM, you'd know what I'm talking about. We'd actually just rate how well the caption goes along with the pixel piece.There'd really be no point to the thread, Just a humorous thing to do, anyways...
Idea 3: We could look back on member's previous or old threads from a while ago, and then quote what ever they said, and pixel a piece that has something to do with the quote. It will take some creativity, but would be a fun thing to look back and laugh about.

if we could get it coordinated well, we could do something along the lines of 'pixel whispers.' It would be like the game 'telephone' or, as some know it, 'Chinese whispers' ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_(game) )
So essentially we would have a short signup date(s) and form groups of 10 or so, and then the first person pixels some scene, object, etc, and then sends it (within a certain amount of days) to the next person in their group's list, who then has to look at the image, and re-pixel it in a different style. the limitations could be whatever is previously decided, it is pretty much open-ended in that area.

Bob - idea one sounds good, the other two seem to be drifting a bit further away than creating art.
Stwelin - Thats a very good idea. It would be good to see how the object/subject evolves with different people styles and artistic views.
There was a game i played as a child where you have a piece of paper folded into three sections - someone would draw the head, another the body and the last person the legs. However each person does not see what the other draws until the end when you have a weird looking creature. It would probably require a rough templete though.
perhaps if one of the mods would show an interest in helping me setup one of the suggested activities, i would be most grateful :)

How about those pictures that are made up of a series of smaller pictures. Like Bart made up of tons of simpson stills. You could make
one of those, pick a picture, divide it into grids, enlarge it, then get people to do one block each. Their block would have to be a picture
in itself, but still keep the dark areas and colors sort of so the whole thing works. You know what i mean.

Thats how i thought it would work. I've replaced two of the 32*32 tiles with new pictures - one of a soldier watching a biplane and
tank, the other of someone marking a football. But when you zoom out alot it should still look like monalisa. So the idea is everyone
would do a tile until the whole picture is oringinal.

Sounds cool to me. I'd give 'er a go. The only issue we would have, would be getting everyone to vote on the proper piece of artwork to do this on.
By the way, I can't really spot where your edited 32X32 tile is. All I see is a penis by her left(our right) eye.(I'm being dead serious, I really can't see where your piece is, or define what it is...and yes I did read the description.)

While that idea is all well and good there are 2 major problems.
1 - i too own that simpsons poster anf the way it works is that there are millions of tiny images. And they use 4 colors for the whole poster. We wouldnt be able to do this without a massive canvas - and it would never get finished.
2 - having a smaller canvas would mean loads of details are lost.
without lots of images this would never be able to work, and i doubt we can get a lot.

Maybe if the original picture was twice as large, then the pictures in the tiles could be clearer. Or maybe if the original picture is something
really simple, like a jolly roger, it might work better.

If this actually ends up being an activity of sorts I'd say that the 16 colors available should be a little more diverse than a color reduced photo. But yeah, I'd be game for this sort of collab.

Well, you know, it's been a slow time since winter holidays. And linking the secret santa thread to the secret santa sign up banner wouldn't make much sense.
The news box will be spiced up once everything starts to flow normally.
