Title: Portrait WIP - the little green man :|
Post by: Zolthorg on December 24, 2006, 05:56:46 am
Eventually he'll occupy a little 64x64 square with some fraction of a body and somethin else.
I'm just trying to dive in and get myself pixelling again.
Started with a rough sketch, currently refining and sturggling with the palette

v2

i think i made it worse.
The first is looking better to me. Are there any glaring anatomy flaws i should be correcting?

<cave> hmm zolthorg's piece is kind of difficult to comment on at the moment
<cave> i would say refine the lines but maybe he is going for the sketchy look
<cave> can't see any anatomy flaws.. just not a very pulled together pallette
<cave> and on v2 he kinda messed up the jawline i think

 ;D

Thanks for restating that. IRC was far to hectic for little ol me to keep up.

I plan to work on it tommorow, and i'll take that to heart. :P

thats a quicky 3am edit

reformed some areas like the nose and mouth
added some dithering, and abit of direction dithering
lessened the harshness of the eyes
added abit more lines to the hair

its a difficult pallete to work with and make work
perhaps add 1-2 more colours
or edit the existing pallete

hopefully that kinda helps
maby point you in a direction atleast...

updated.
-Shortened the hair to lessen what i figured was cliched.
-refined a lot of it.
-made the palette a zillion times closer to what i wanted.
-worked on the mouth and nose like flaber mentioned.

Still thinking
-perhaps a military uniform of sorts for the body?
-highlighting colors looks strange on the skin
