Post by: Matriax on September 19, 2005, 10:35:12 am
Hello,

I making great palette with examples and all type of number of colours etc... and saving all the colors in xx.pal for apply in your works. How many times you looking for this color you want.. or you are starting in pixel-art and not have any idea of choice apropiate colors for four works... or you want have more paletes colors for easy apply etc....

First i making the exemples of the colors and i put any colors into examples etc..

For the examples of 5colours i make 1 sphere, a world and a isometric cube, for the examples of 6 colors 3 spheres....

And for the 8colours.... i need spheres or a little pixelarts (how the world) and also for 9 colours, 10colours etc....

I need a little pixel-arts or type of spheres make in 8,9,10 colors (all with the same color) to put the palettes colours in this examples.

This is the video-tutorial for use this :

I really really don't understand what you're doing here ( although cool pixel art ). Pre-made palettes? Every palette should be controlled, cover the spectrum on a case by case basis, every shade should work for the piece it's made for and customized with care and love. Premade nothing.

And now i have 6c,7c,8c,9c.... and making the 10c....

I have "things" that have 6 colours, 7 colours etc... and aplly a palette and save in bmp and i create the respective xxx.pal . And if i making a work a need a determinate colours etc.. i view this examples witch colors and in a seconds i have the work with good colors.

(sorry for my bad english)

Helm is right.
although this may seem like a nice idea and may be found usefull for someone who hasn't managed colors much in the past, in the end it becomes a crutch unto the person useing such presets.
Those who use it should be aware of this. But even so, I'm sure it could be insightful to some.
Your consideration is appreciated.

Also wanted to mention the globes look nice. The land masses seem flat though in comparison to the water which is shaded.

update of the last cubes i really love.  gridboxes show on it when my eye looks on it.  "for 7 colors" is lots crap, needs tweaking of saturations and luminosities .
