So I made these two!

Which is better? And do they stink or not?
-
I think the one on the right is better. They don't stink, but I think you should lose the black outline.
-
There is no black outline- it's just dark colours of the same as the colour they are nect too.
-
I prefer the one to the right, and they don't stink, but they could use some texture.

The things that I changed:
I. I changed the colours, gave it a highlight, and brought the colours down to 6.
Remember that the hue slider is your friend while shading.
II. Gave it some texture, and added more detail to the trunk.
III. And killed most of the outline.
Happy pixeling!

O.K., a new one.

There is one useless shade on the left of the tree.

There needs to be a more dominant dark shade, so far, there's only specs of it dotted around.
-
And another small edit...

That made a huge difference. It actually looks like it's got some sort of shape now. But you're still wasting a shade in that blueish green on the left side. Make that darker, also, because now you can't see it unless you already know it's there.
-
The middle of the tree is deformed.

OK, Yet another edit! (http://www.toolkitzone.com/vault/stuff/13231_Pine%20Tree2_2.bmp)
