I like it.  :y:

The inside tree flesh tends to be lighter colors than the outside part of the tree.
I also made your lights lighter and darker darker overall:

I would take it even further than Rydin and push the core shadows even more:

Opposing those shadows/dark spots, the light is "clumped" to a point (focal point).

That technique goes back ages, but gives it something extra at this size.
