Title: Hooded Bandit [WIP]
Post by: Fajny Hades on July 03, 2018, 10:21:20 pm
Hello, I was supposed to make a short animation of standing bandit, but I'm not sure about shading and proportions. However, I'm sure that lighted spaces are pretty bad and I would like to know how to improve them.

Hmm, maybe this one is better?
A bit stronger contrasts and lighter colors.

I think the second one is a massive improvement!
It still feels a little flat though, because there are no cast shadows. For example, the arm on our left should probably be partially in shadow from the torso, and most of the interior of the cape should probably be in shadow as well. You could also suggest a less flat pose with the legs by having one of them partially in shadow.

OKay, so I added more colors and shaded his side. Here's the effect, but I feel like there are still many things wrong:

Meanwhile, I tried to draw rogue in a different style. I think this one would be easier to animate but i'm not sure if it's worth continuing and there is something odd with his hand.
