Hi everyone !
I'd like to introduce to you the project I'm working on called "Naïca" : as you read in the title it is a video game on mobile blending pixel art and MMORPG 2D !
Naïca is developed on Unity and designed/animated on Aseprite and we aim to have the smoothest possible animations. The story is being created right now (we are more focused on gameplay/animation/design) so I can't tell you much about it except it will take place on a medieval world full of cristals with different races of animals and humans living together.

Small update : We began to work on the level design of Naïca ! Can't wait to see it in "real" and show it to you :) For the characters & the animations expecially the attacks (only the fox has been animated thus far that's why you'll see him a lot !).

It's rather high-contrast, I didn't spot the character right away because of that.
Part of the problem is that the character isn't very eye-grabbing. Have you considered using slightly more saturated colours for the fur, and having shadows that aren't so dull-looking (more hue-shifted)?

The screenshot is actually 4 screens of smartphones so that's why you may have not spot the character right away. On a normal screen you will not have this kind of issue ! We'll work on making it easier to spot the characters in the coming days prior the first playtest (soon to be announced).

It's clear you're putting a lot of effort into this! An MMO is SUCH a huge endeavor, have you released any full commercial games yet? After 5 years even now I'm just working to release my first (Although I've been working for it on and off for 2 1/2 years specifically).
I just imagine all the classes and customizations it takes to make an MMO feel fun and unique, but the pixel art niche does do you a lot of favors! :D
The characters are really popping now from the environments, but I would suggest you animate at least one other race ASAP :)

Naïca is our first video game project and we are doing everything we can to do it weel !
As for the races, we plan to add the humans very soon: we wanted to make them available for the playtest but an issue kept us away from doing it :( .

Man this art is awesome. I love the graphics. I've taken a look at the website and this post. I'm interested in testing the game.
Besides that, i do agree with eishiya. I didnt even notice the player character. Maybe you could add something noticeable around the player. Or maybe this is a zoomed out shot of the game? I think it wouldnt be a problem if the player character took more space of the screen.
Im not an artist, this is just my opinion :)

Since a few weeks, the open Beta of Naïca is available! A lot of things had to be handle (thus the delay for the announcement here), but it's calmer now!
We are working on the next update, coming in December, with a lot of fixes and a bunch of new things. In addition, we are also doing small server update to fix several things, which are easy to do.
