I'm planning on making many more, each with a 'shape' in the midst of the animation. You might notice this one uses a skull. Tips? Tricks? Advice?

Creative, eh... but looks nothing like blood. I'd say it's more fitting to be smoke.

individually each frame is nicely rendered... but it doesnt' animate at all well... I suggest you look at some actuall liquid splashing and what have you as inspiration and then return to it...

Can't say mych more I'm afraid... I'm a little strapped for time...

First of all that looks really cool stylistically, nice job. As blood splashing the animation is a little off-putting though. I think the main thing that bothers me is how the amount of blood grows and shrinks after its been released into the air, instead of just spreading out.

I think that is a very good point, I will try an edit with more of a dissipating effect ala Samurai Shodown spurts. :)

Looks more like a fleeting spirit than blood.

That was the general idea. :p I wanted to incorporate 'artsy' images and symbols into the gory swirls only I think it's going to be harder to do than I imagined. I got the idea from some 80's anime I remember seeing as a kid where explosions were shaped like rose blooms. <3

I don't think there should ever be a reworked frame in a blood animation. Always make from scratch.

I think, the animation mostly comport is originality and color~~what comport about the animation is not very importance~~importance is the animation give me any originality!!

I like the idea of adding shapes to the explosion (reminds me a lot of xcom), and while your detailing is great itīs neither very smooth nor blood-like.
From the individual frames you posted it seems like you didnīt pay enough attention to two things: 1) viscosity and 2) blob tracking. A spatter of blood is a liquid, and a pretty thick one at that. You need to track the individual masses, just like with any other animation. If you look where each blob goes, you can easily fill in the connections and have them fade out / mist out wherever you want.
Also like the others mentioned, your detailing is great, but imo that can be a handicap when it comes to animations.

tips: start simple, make a few splashes, spatters and blobs. With more than 3 or 4 blobs the whole thing can get pretty difficult to track, especially if you donīt use layers (and if you do, youīll end up with hundreds in no time). ;)

hereīs an old, old animation i made a few years ago, hopefully itīll show what i mean:
