don't know how to texture the hair and how to apply the shading on the cheekbones and on the forhead(can't add wrinkles without making him look old)

Light is coming from the front/top
I'd like to remove it from the site when its finished
I fear what I've created :|

I don't think the forehead needs much. People's foreheads don't really have any major defining bumps/dips/features so leaving them plain should be ok.

I think You're adding too much noise by adding every single wrinkle and by adding single pixels for the stubble and moustache.
Here's how I would fix the face so that it looks a little clearer.

Hope this helps!

Disagree with above poster, some noise reduction is a good idea but not QUITE to this extent

Do you mean you find it too smooth compared to what he was going for?

Yes, precisely. The original feels more detailed and realistic while yours puts it back down to cartoony. Doesn't quite sell the same vibe.
