I wanted to try a skeleton using the pico-8 palette and created this lovely skeleton in 64x64

Any suggestions would be helpful!

His legs are to deformed and his left hand is just blended with his ribs so start with those ones ;D

The proportions are not realistic. I drew a skeleton some time ago using this tutorial, maybe it'll be helpful for you

Talking about proportions, you can use this picture as a reference, for example:

Yep, I've made some bad proportions in my art, and thanks for the video with HB.
I went back and scale down my canvas size,(Don't think I'm ready for anything bigger than 32x32 currently)
I made this using the Pico-8 palette still:

using this pixel art as a ref https://jesse-m.itch.io/skeleton-pack.
[I don't know if it could be me only, but I find when I do pixel art, I work better and get a clear view on how to mange and use the pixels when I'm using a pixel art ref compared when I use an irl ref or a photo/art]
I'm gonna take a short break from arting then jump back going through these tutorials:

any suggestions on the new skelly would be amazing!
thanks ~dky

Try using different lightning for the inside and outside of the individual ribs.
Also, on a different style, but check out Dark Spire's retro mode skeletons:
